Kendall offers fight performance training in De Longis Performance & Combat Arts, an approach developed by his teacher, Anthony De Longis. Kendall has studied with Anthony since 2004, among other accomplished instructors, and holds instructor rank in Shinkendo Japanese Swordsmanship, studying with Sensei Matthew Lynch since 2007.

The philosophy focuses on the “ribbons of truth” which run throughout all martial arts, thus expediting the learning process and maximizing the time spent training. This approach is perfect for stunt performers, actors, and martial artists alike.

Areas of Training

  • Unarmed - Drawing from western boxing, Escrima, Muay Thai, and Tae Kwon Do, the unarmed system uses various style elements to develop effective body dynamics and footwork for performance.

  • Bladed Weapons - Sabre, rapier, smallsword, longsword, katana, and knife. Universal concepts are taught along with weapon-specific elements for historical and combative accuracy.

  • Filipino Stick / Knife (Escrima) - Stick is extremely adaptable and applicable to stunt work with the angles, disarms, trapping, and multiple distances.

  • Whip - Anthony De Longis’ signature Rolling Loop method of whip is the foundation, exploring many different combinations, wraps, target work, and close-range combat.

  • Staff / Spear - We use concepts from Filipino stick, Japanese staff, and European sword to cultivate all ranges of staff work.
